Why Our Pub is Great
Perfectly located for holidaymakers, and warmly welcoming to locals looking for a great place to eat in Street, The Bear Inn is the quintessential village pub restaurant. Our beautiful building is on the High Street, directly opposite the original C & J Clark workshops.
Our well-appointed rooms are located in the pub and its surrounding cottages, and offer an idyllic and comfortable place to stay within easy reach of Wells and Glastonbury. As well as a great base for holidaymakers, our rooms are an excellent choice for conferences and business seminars. We have two function rooms onsite, and our pub is easily reached from the M5.
Whether you come for business or pleasure, we’re sure you’ll stay for the food. Our menu of carefully-chosen pub classics is served restaurant style and complemented by fresh, flavoursome sides. From luxurious starters to rotisserie-chicken curries with authentic sides, there’s something here for every taste and occasion. Come for the location, stay for fine food served in a relaxed pub atmosphere. We look forward to welcoming you.
About Our Food
Dishes are always freshly prepared using quality ingredients; like our Red Tractor farm-assured chicken, our responsibly-fished cod and haddock and the langoustine tails in our golden Whitby scampi that are fished in UK waters.
Book a table for a special occasion, or call in for a week day treat. Our pub is suitable for every occasion when you can be sure you’ll have the best pies, burgers, steaks and curries as well as our signature rotisserie chicken on offer. You’ll also find exclusive dishes created by our chefs in our annual Chef of the Year competition.View our Menus
